Hey guys…this is my FIRST of many informal videos I am going to share with you about me personally and professionally. It’s my way of coming out from behind my websites and letting you into my personal circle. I apologize for the wind, but hey…you’re golfer…you know all about wind on the course right?
I have to thank my awesome son Trent who did a great job holding the camera steady during all that wind. I hope you enjoy, and by all means comment below with questions or whatever you have on your mind
I’ll be doing more of these unless you absolutely hate’em…LOL! Shoot me off a comment below with your thoughts (or concerns
).

Mike
I love the format and presentation of your programme.
you-tube visual presentations make it easy to fully understand what your saying and its kept to a nice time span thus no overload.
We dont get the opportunity to get professional standard golf lessons in my part of the world so your site is well discussed between myself and my golfing cartel.
Keep up the good work

Just hoping people can get to know the guy behind the website

I have a similar background though not at your level , running track in highschool, lifting weights since I was young, living off a golf course, obsessed with improving my golf game the past four years, etc. My chiropractor says toe touching can be harmful to your back and recommends the lying down hamstring towel strecth instead, what do you think?
May 19th, 2008 at 7:14 am
I agree with your chiropractor, although if you slowly ease into a toe touch you really can’t do any harm. It’s if you’re moving into it quickly that you can tweak something. Thanks for commenting!

Mike,
That’s a great idea to show us a little about yourself. With 1500 articles on the internet you have certainly established yourself as the golf fitness guru.
Keep up the good work.

Hi Mike,
Like the personal touch. Nice one!
Good to hear / see the man who’s responsible for changing my game beyond recognition in less than a year!
Keep up the good work and I wish you success in all that you do.

Ted,
I’m kind of a boring guy, so I didn’t know if people cared about my background, but it’s nice to see some comment activity in here.
Best,
Mike

Mike,
I love this idea. I have ordered products from you (which I love and are very helpful) and look forward to reading your e-mails. Your website is awesome and filled with great stuff if you want to improve your golf game.
Thanks for taking the time to go the extra mile for us and adding this personal touch. It’s iceing on the cake from someone who really takes an interest in his readers.
Ed
P.S. Your son did a great job under the circumstances!

Hi Ed,
Thanks for all the kind words
. I really appreciate it. Here’s to a MUCH BETTER golf game eh?

Mike,
The wind noise is really very off-putting and looks amateurish. It is not difficult to connect a long lead and have the microphone clipped on your collar. That is what I do when videoing speakers in school.

Sorry to disappoint you, but we cannot control the “elements” nor do we have a production company doing these videos. These are VERY informal videos with the main goal of reaching out and touching golfers, with no COMMERCIAL intent whatsoever!

Like several of the other readers, I too have purchased a number of your products. I’ve worked out with you two or three times a week for the last year and a half and have felt I wanted to know a little bit more about the guy on the tv screen”. This video was a great idea. Looking forward to more.

Thanks Doug! Glad you like it! More to come

Hi Mike,
Great site. Funny how track athletes converge to golf. Must be the individual accountability aspects of the sport. Any way one quick comment have you thought about incorporating the AIS (Active Isolated Stretching) methodology. The reason why I mentioned this is recently I started to train to break five minutes for the mile (my mid-life crisis goal) before I could start I pulled my calf muscle. I went to a MT, however instead of massaging, they introduce me to this methodology (I had no range of motion). I’m now back on pace and guess what my hip flexors; glutes; periformis (engaged the golf muscles) have increase in flexibility. My distance have improved through your weight programs and AIS. Overall it’s not painful getting out of bed in the morning. Keep up the great work.

Hi Mike –
I am enjoying your blog very much, but I have a couple of unrelated questions. I just purchased your system, and it was delivered yesterday. I have read it through, but I have several questions about how to implement it. Is there some forum where I can post my questions, so I can begin the program? Many of the questions relate to the fact that I lift already, have a good gym setup at home, and want to integrate this program with some fitness lifting. I know you said that there were some lifts I shouldn’t do, but what are they? Those kind of question.
Anyway, thanks a lot!

Hi Mike,
Liked the video idea, the wind noise was no problem and I am looking forward to more vid’s, in particular the ‘instructional’ ones which are upcoming.

Thanks Glen, but as I have said, I am a “fitness” guy, not a certified instructor. I will answer basic questions about the golf swing, but mosty fitness, stretching, nutrition and motivation related questions as that is my specialty.

Mike -video part was OK but audio captured all the wind noises which you can do something about in the next one. Good job.

As I said, I am at the mercy of the conditions and do not have commercial equipment. This is really informal and personal stuff, so it will never be commercial grade. If that makes or breaks someone watching so be it.

Hi Mike,
What an awesome addition to your repertoire of training materials! I am definitely sold on this concept!
I can see how these videos can be used by affiliates in a powerful way. Just one question: is there any possibility your wife, Kim, could also be included on some of these videos? The site I am building will be having a page for Ladies Golf Training, and featuring Kim in these videos would be a favorable asset, one I would definitely use!
Keep up the Great work,
I look forward to your emails

Hi Mike
Great video – not sure if you’re aware of this but I used some of your fitness techniques during my golf challenge. Some, but by no means all, of my publicity is below and I actually mention you in my soon to be published book.
http://scratchtoscratch.wordpress.com/about/
This challenge (to break par in a year when I couldn’t break 100 to begin with) was deemed impossible by a number of great golfers (Darren Clarke and Sam Torrance amongst them) and undoubtedly getting my physical fitness sorted was a crucial part. I lost 10K during the year for a start.
So thanks for your help.
John
