I have had type one diabetes since I was four years old. I am now 14. I actually take a few nutritional advantages from having it because I have to watch what I eat more than most other people do. I used to find it a little hard to stay balanced energy wise on the course because the exercise does not always have the same exact effect on my blood sugar. I have since had a more consistent amount of carbohydrate intake day by day, and I have noticed less ups and downs on the course. My goal is to be one of the top players on tour. If Scott Verplank can do it, so can I!!!!!!

I have used Stevia for over 15 years. You can bake with it too.
I only use half a packet for cereal as that is all it needs.
Also have a Stevia live plant that if I want something sweet I just pick a leaf
off of it. Verrrry sweet.

This is something that I've thought a lot about lately. I too am a fanatic about at least trying to eat and stay healthy. I've given up drinking soda (after years of at least three cans a day), and I'm eating a lot more vegetables than I ever have before.

I actually was just thinking about the sugar topic recently. I do drink sweet tea quite a bit. I love it! I make it myself with the pure cain sugar you buy in the stores. I'm wondering if this is a real no-no? I've always heard that real sugar is much better than the artificial stuff like Equal and Sweet 'N Low? Will drinking sweet tea have similar adverse effects just as soda can/will?

Also, when I'm in the store, what are the code words on labels used for processed and refined sugars? I look at the labels and don't know half of what's in it?
