



You’ve heard many phrases in your life that are related to self-improvement, but for most people it is easier said than done! They hear them and then may even try to say them, but with no conviction towards actually getting what they want. Have you ever felt this way? Maybe it’s losing weight, or lowering your handicap, or making more money?
There are so many occurrences we have of talking ourselves out of doing something. Do you agree? How many would you say in a typical day? I can probably count on both hands and maybe my feet how many times for me
.
Why do we do this? Why do we find reasons (excuses) to not do something we need to do? If our putting sucks, why would we not practice our putting? Because it’s boring? Or maybe, you don’t think it will help anyways? See how the reasons start creeping in?
Just imagine how many times we do this on a daily basis.
So what if EVERY time something came up we needed to do and we just DID IT? No thinking. No rationalizing. We JUST DID IT! Do you think we’d be more successful in everything we do? I think so.
Over thinking is a mind game with yourself. It makes you feel like you are working on the problem and gives you a false sense of security you are making it happen!
It also keeps you protected from failure, embarrassment and rejection. These feelings can be brutal. As you’re reading I want you to think of all the situations golf, life and business you can recognize this and make a change…right now!
Just do it is a trigger you should learn to use as much as possible. It becomes easier as you use it more. I’ve been applying this and it REALLY WORKS
! Whenever I have something I need to do I don’t let my mind start playing its games, I do it and move on. You can do this too!
Since I am first a fitness professional AND a golfer, I have used this approach to my fitness my entire life and never really thought about it until now. I NEVER skip workouts! I don’t say this to brag, it has been a part of my life since I was 10 years old. I know…I’m kind of a freak!
But you can use this with your fitness, weight loss, golf and business very effectively. When you sense your mind kicking in and over thinking…STOP and “just do it”. No more wasting time or thinking. Ready - fire - aim. It’s never going to be perfect, so why not just act and make modifications along the way?
One word I can’t stand that many, many people (and golfers) use is “tomorrow”. How many times have you learned of something that could help you…and you say “I’ll start tomorrow”? And what happens next? Tomorrow never comes
!!
Remember…if you start talking (having thoughts) don’t listen! In one ear, out the other and move on. No more reasons for not doing it. If you know you need to do it, just do it!
Here is where you can get some serious leverage to be successful in your golf (and health). You are going to act from now on. When you know you have a scheduled workout, and the time comes to do it, no more thinking…you’re going to do it.
The next time you go to the range and you know you need to work on your chipping. Do it first. Then go bang your driver all day long. When you have that morning cardio (fat-burning) session scheduled, you are going to do it asap…no delay or thinking about it. Do you see where I’m going with this?
You’re going to become an “action-oriented” machine!
The very next commitment that comes up…do this. You’re not going to “try to do it”. You’re going to do it. I hate when I hear someone say, I’ll give it a try”, I hope I can do it”, “wish me luck”. These are failure phrases. You’ll never achieve success saying those phrases!
I hope I’ve motivated you to take action and JUST DO IT!

I believe you doing workouts is an unconscious act on your behalf, in your own words you just do it. Its been part of your life for a long time now.
But for those new-comers starting out they need somebody there to push them, Right now its a conscious act and thats not always a good thing to much thinking time and not enough doing.
