Another good exercise for golf, or just wrist exercises is to sit and place both your forearms resting on your thighs. Then grab 2 dumbells (sp) around 10 lb's each (thats what I normally use) and cury your wrists (palms should be facing up).
Do as many reps as needed, I used to do around 40 at a time and within a few weeks I started noticing a difference with my strength. ( I had injured my wrist and needed to build strength in it).

A sketch or picture is extremely valuable when explaining a movement.
What is proper movement to cock wrist.
Thumb towards arm;?
Back of hand towards arm;?
Twist wrist at same time as either of above;?

The hands are somewhat passive, but not through impact. They uncock (unhinge) to create that high clubhead speed. Picture throwing a ball. Notice how just before you release the ball from your hand, your wrist also releases? That is what it does in your golf swing. Make sense?

Many golf instructors teach that the hands should be passive and the golf club should release naturally, and that power comes from turning of the torso. Why is wrist muscle strength important if the hands are suppose to be passive?
