5 Simple Ways To Transform Your Golf Swing In 30 Days

Posted by Mike in Improve Golf Swing

Do you know the quickest way to improve your golf swing and enjoy long-term improvement? Have you struggled to achieve a better game, even though you feel like you’ve put time and effort into it?

What do you think is missing? I can tell you if you keep doing what you’re doing, you’re going to keep getting what you get. Agree? Achieving a better golf swing should be approached the same way you want to improve your life, job, weight loss or fitness…anything that’s important to you.

So here’s 5 ways to transform your golf swing and keep it for the long-term.

1. Find the root cause of your main swing fault.

Stop stabbing in the dark! Get a video analysis of your swing to finally see what you are doing wrong. Until you see your swing on video, you’ll never know for sure what is keeping you from a better swing. Video doesn’t lie. What you think you are doing could be something totally different than what you’re actually doing.

2. Apply drills to correct your swing fault.

Do nothing else but drills for your specific swing fault that was diagnosed in your video analysis. Do these drills consistently everytime you practice until the swing fault is corrected (and stays corrected).

3. Implement strength exercises to support your new swing.

You had a swing fault for a reason. Your body did not have the strength to execute a mechanically sound swing and found compensations to make up for it. Strengthen the muscles specific to your swing fault and you’ll never see that swing fault again!

4. Stretch those tight swing muscles to improve tension.

I can tell you confidently that 80% of all amateur golfers have poor golf swing flexibility. That means the specific muscles involved in a correct golf swing are tight, restricted and incapable of performing a good swing with no tension. Tight muscles are tense muscles. Loosen those babies and your swing will be as loose as Freddie Couples.

5. Be consistent with the above 4 tips  !

If you want to enjoy your golf for many years, you need to have a game plan, and you need to stick with it for the long haul. Too many golfers just “hit-and-miss” it. They try some new tip and it works for a round or two, then their on to the next new tip, only to find they have an inconsistent swing and performance.

Stay “dialed in” on your swing faults, drill them to death so they stay out of your swing, strenghen and stretch your swing muscles specific to your faults, and the sky’s the limit! You can transform your golf swing and continue to reach new levels of play for many years to come!

If you want to add to my 5 simple ways with things that have worked for you, by all means chime in below with your comments. I want to hear’em all  .

So true…
However, many (amateur) golfers blame their equipment, i.e. their clubs, rather than their own swing faults. In my opinion it is exactly this mind set that makes golf club manufacturers thrive as they can easily convince golfers that they will ’surely improve their game’ if they only buy the latest club/ball etc…

Frank, you are right! Club manufacturers do just that  ! Having the right fit for your clubs is important, but you don’t need the latest/greatest clubs to enjoy your golf.
