Okay…I”m going to ask you for something. What I want in response to this post is your golf success story as it relates to your implementation of a golf fitness/stretching program. Why am I asking for this? Because more golfers need to see this IS the missing link to better golf. I’ve had the pleasure of receiving hundreds of emails from all over the world who have dramatically improved their game by starting a simple golf exercise program with stretching.
I want to hear from you!
If you’ve got a success story post it in hear via comment and if it’s an awesome one, we’ll add your picture to it! I really want to hear from any of you who have seen improvement. It’s motivation for me to hear and read some of these amazing transformations. This is your chance to be proud of what you’ve accomplished. To brag a bit! There’s nothing wrong with letting people know you’re proud of what you’ve accomplished!
The more stories we get in here the more golfers reading them will get motivated and start their own programs. Doesn’t matter how old you are or how low your handicap is. It is your starting point. Your baseline to compare results and chart improvement.
You may think it’s trivial, but it could be as simple as…
…so we want to hear it!
The golf season may be winding down for many of you, and this makes it the PERFECT time to get started on your physical preparation program for next year. The sooner you start, the quicker you’ll see results! This blog has everything to do with golf improvement, and even more to do with the physical approach to better golf. If you’ve ever read one of my articles or been to any of my golf sites, you know what I believe in and that I don’t stray one bit!
I want to also show you it’s not “work”, but a journey to better golf. Don’t look at it as a huge commitment. It’s not! Just spending 15 minutes of targeted movement specific to your golf swing will make a world of difference! Become part of this community, and I’ll do my very best to help you!
I’m hoping this post does not remain “empty of comments”, but that it fills up quickly. If it remains empty, I will assume either no one wanted to take the time to respond on this post (comment), or they have not partaken in a fitness program for golf, and have not seen improvement.

Hi Mike,
Just wanted to give you an update on my overall performance this season. It was my best season ever!! Last year, I struggled to break 100. This year I finally broke 90 for the first time!!! The strength and flexibility training has made a huge difference to my game, My drives are longer and straighter(no more banana slice), and I’m more accurate in the fairway. I get better every year, thanks to your program. Money well spent.
Thanks again

Jared,
That is fantastic! Congrats on breaking 90! You will be breaking 80 within another season keeping this up! I’m very proud to hear you’ve done so well, and you recognize fitness as being part of that success. Kudos to you:)
Best,
Mike

Hi Mike,
Per an earlier email to you, I just picked up the game of golf as the age of 54. The reason why so late is that I had to give up my other sports, softball and racquetball due to knee replacement surgery from a very old football injury. Being an exercise type of guy, I looked and found your information/teaching/products to be enlightening and educational.
Over the last 3 years with your strength and flexibility training techniques (particularly in the shoulder turn), I have progressed from the 120’s the first year to 110’s the second year and now low 90’s. I am now 57 and just broke 90 for the first time this year as well as scoring a 39 for nine for the first time…..
I’m a believer that in order to maintain consistency, the body must have a “capacity” to perform. Typically that capacity is larger when you are younger and more limited as we age. By working on the body, I can maintain a degree of fitness to “allow” me to improve and play the game……even if the putting comes and goes.
Take care and thanks,
Mike N

That’s awesome Mike! I hope more golfers see it’s NEVER too late to start golf and fitness. If anything, being older you’ll see more dramatic improvement, which makes the game more enjoyable and you’ll feel a lot better. Keep up the great work!

Hello Mike.
I only became aware of your programmes a month ago and already golf has become far easier. I am in my sixties and find that I am putting far less effort into swinging the club and getting better results. I have never done any formal exercises before and are not really familiar with organising a gym routine. What would help me, and no doubt many of your followers, would be to have some guidence on a series of daily exercise programmes of 15-30 mins, that varies the excercises whilst using all of the required muscle groups. Would it be possible to do that for us Mike?
Best regards
Bryn

Bryn,
That’s exactly why I put together my Golf Fitness DVDS as guidance for golfers to do golf specific fitness routines.

Well, your program gave me the courage to pick up my game after a 25 year hiatus. I am now 65 and two shoulder surgeries later. I am very happy to report that I am practicing and have even taken lessons. Oh yes, and a game or two. However, I overdid everything and wound up with golf elbow , and I’m using your exercises to rehab. I’m about to get out to the driving range, slowly. Thanks for the help.

Mike, You are right on target with this program; The only part of the whole golf picture that has not improved in 20 years is Fitness; The technology of the clubs, shafts, balls, etc is infinitely improved, and instruction with video, lauch and spin-rate monitors, etc is fantastic; What remains??……..the Player; Too many players cannot get into proper positioning in order to hit consistant shots, and they lack the stamina to perform over a 4 hour timeframe. Keep up the good work;.. Rob

Frankly, have not been actively and consistently doing all your fitness exercises and suggestions. Am still struggling for consistency in my game…scores fluctuatign from 83 to 100. Of course, lately have been suffering from pain on my right arm bicep from the shoulder down…this has not helped for my consistency or for scores. I think I have a nagging problem with a sprain or muscle/nerve pinch …and can use some thoughts.
Promise to do better with your fitness suggestions.

I am a golf fitness instructor in Florida and have many success stories with my students. I have a 33y/o dentist who started out shooting in the low 90’s and now, due to increased lower body flexibility and posture awareness, is shooting high 70’s low 80’s. I have a 24 y/o client who is going to be playing on the “Victory Tour”next year who has improved her upper body strength and lower body balance through core strengthening and high level balance exercises. I have another female student, in her 50’s, that through improving her flexibility she has improved her tempo of her golf swing and hits more consistent golf shots.

Good work Laura! Isn’t it rewarding to see your clients get results like that? Makes it all worthwhile.
