This has been amazing!
The 10 week golf swing transformation Morrie Puzzi undertook with me has been a HUGE success! He wanted significantly more yards on his drives, and he got it
We had some bumps in the road, but overcame every one of them to end up much happier and motivated to continue to see even more amazing results.
If you want to do the same simple golf swing exercises Morrie did, check out our Golf Training System!

Mike,
Like you, I have enjoyed the “Monday’s with Morrie” series you did for 10 wweks. I was watching the last in the series and saw your swing. You raise your left heel off the ground when you swing the woods & driver. The last time I saw that was when Jack Nicolaus was in his prime. What’s the left heel lift do for you??

Actually I was sick, stiff, and hadn’t swung a club in 3 and a half weeks
I normally do not lift my heel off the ground as I have more than enough core rotational flexibility.

I enjoyed watching this series. My story mirroed Morrie’s story in many ways. I started learning golf about nine months ago. It was characterized by failure. I was the worse golfer on the worst team. About six months ago, I started taking bi-weekly golf lessons. My golf teacher was trying to show me the positions I needed to get into, but I could not get into. She gave me drills to do at home to augment the feelings.
About ten weeks ago, I started some training like Mike suggested and introduced to Morrie during the first few weeks. I followed them pretty dilligently. I exercised daily up until the holidays, then I was side-tracked. I resumed right before the New Year.
About one month ago, I had another bi-weekly lesson, and my instructor told me to swing as fast as I can. At the time, I had my 3 wood. I made one swing, and she told me to do it even faster. She was satisifed, and then she told me to the actual swing. I walked up to the ball, and did the swing like she told me, and I launched the ball straight and long. I felt my core engage, and it made a difference. She then grabbed another club, which was suited for my swing style, and then I just ripped another shot down the middle and high into the air. I cannot remember the distance, but I was able to swing at full authority. It was pretty far. My teacher told me that my exercises and my drills at home put me into the necessary positions, and that is why she told me to swing for the fences. I practiced three days later, and once I was warmed up, I could start bombing shots.
I bought a Golf Shape Book and started the 11 day program to add in other muscles for exercises.
Yesterday, I played 9 holes with my friend, and I was not going full throtle because I was trying to loosen up even after I had warmed up, and I was striking the ball well. I could not get my 3 wood to engage, but even at half effort, I was able to hit it about 170 yards. The last hole was my best shot, because I had some snap and authority. I was short of the green by about a foot, but I felt good about the result.
Two morals: exercise is important because my instructor has noticied my increased flexibility and strength, which now she is having me do drills during the lesson time which has me engaging my core more; get the right equipement for your swing because I purchased the standard set at a store for my first set of clubs, but the driver and 3 woods were not that good, and now with with a club suited for my swing, it really helps.
I liked your golf fitness body of work. It really makes a difference.
Thanks,
Boone Mill
