The only thing that I don't like about this club is that it breaks down if you take it back too quickly. Intuitively, it really should not matter how quickly one takes the club away as long as it is on plane and, more importanly that the club is on plane on the downswing. Not everyone has the same tempo of swing.

I already own a hinged driver and a 5 iron. However, it is a Medicus brand. They would probably have helped me this year if I had used them at all.

Thanks for commenting Mike!

For me at least, when my swing "goes south" I pull out this club, get in front of a mirror and find out EXACTLY where my swing is breaking down! This is the BEST "instant feedback" training I have EVER used to keep my swing tempo and plane consistent.

There's nothing better in golf than being able to quickly diagnose and FIX your swing fault to get you back "on the course" shooting decent scores and hitting longer drives.

I have often wondered about the hinged club, and after seeing your video have tried applying the principles of it and find that they really work, i.e. slowing down the take away and getting a good rythmatic swing. Thanks for the info.

Alan,

I had a 5 iron hinge also, but because I'm going through a major swing change (mostly tempo) I don't hit my 5 irons as much, so I'm swinging the driver hinge club instead. Both are very good clubs to train with

Thanks for stopping by!!

Mike: I've been using a hinged club ( a # 5-iron, in fact) as a practice aid for years - I thoroughly recommend anyone interested in improving their game to get one straight away !
