"Have you ever walked off the course with your back killing you? "

LOL,

The question, in my case, is when was the last time, that I DIDN'T ....

Physical fitness, in general is something I've been woefully lacking in, especially the last uh ... decade or so when I've been working a 9-5 office job.

Sitting all day in a chair, then rushing off to the course afer work and wondering why my body doesn't perform like it at least semi-used-to, in the good "old days" .... err much younger days !

During the winter here in Canada (Toronto) is even worse for me exercise ..or lack thereof.

I have used the exercise you describe above, and also a variation, which I'd love to get your input on :

While standing up, and leaning forward against something for support with my hands, i.e. a table top, I'llI basically "hang" one leg limp while standing on
the other leg, then pivot around that leg, "shaking it off" and generally "loosening" up my lower back and hip area.

It helps greatly to "free up" my back, which from a combination of years of swinging into a "reverse C" finish, in my younger days, along with trying to lift a 200 lb water bottle one, summer, has done things to my back, that I think I don't want to know about ;)

I went to a Chiropractor briefly, years ago, and my X-ray showed a very curved and twisted lower spine .... well at least I didn't have any other x-rays to compare it to, .. so I really don't know how "abnormal" my back is.

I stopped going to the Chiro, as I was being charged ~$50.00 for a 2 minute "procedure", that didn't seem to be doing anything that I could see, but I was promised would "eventually" accumulate to improving my back.

I was just looking over your "golf stretching" Ebook, and I may have to take you up on that ;)

Hi Mike
I have doing stretches daily since I picked up my first e-book from you. The stretching has helped my golf game a lot. I will add this stretch for the back to my daily routine. Thanks for a great post

Larry,
You are absolutely correct! I, being one of the "non-stretchers" in this world. Well last week I ordered Mike's stretching book and have been doing them at work several times each day in hopes for more flexibility. I've always realized that stretching is very important but for some reason, never incorporated it in my daily routine until now. I do play golf and want to get better, so I realized now that stretching will play a big part in this.

Thanks for the book, Mike!
