Jared,

I disagree with you. If you are NOT physically capable of what your pro wants you to do, and continue to hit balls, you will NEVER improve. I have seen this with hundreds of golfers. They are physically broken; so don't try to tell me they just need to hit more balls and spend MORE MONEY on golf lessons.

You have no idea how many golfers have sent me emails saying they've spent a thousand dollars on a golf lesson package NEVER to get any better. What does that tell you? It doesn't take a rocket scientist to see that the ONLY thing left IS THE BODY.

I don't know how you can say any different.

Do athletes skip their conditioning? NO THEY DON"T!

Then why would a golfer?

Golf is physically brutal on the body, and a weaker, tighter golfer will not only perform poorly, but be at risk of serious injury.

I can defend this tll I'm blue in the face, and you will still probably argue the point, so ENOUGH SAID, and best of luck with your game and the thousands of balls and the thousands of dollars you're going to spend on equipment and lessons.

Hit'em LONG & Straight!

Tiger Woods is obviously an amazing golfer with a skill set I will never achieve on the golf course. However, his playing is still useful to me for improving if nothing other than to be an inspiration for what is possible on there on the greens.

Well said  . Tiger is a true student of the game and will never stop working on it. That is why he dominates people both physically and mentally.

Do I really think Tiger has anything else to learn about the golf swing? - I couldn't possibly know what else he can learn, so no, I don't think he has anything else to learn.

Do I think that Tiger thinks he has anything else to learn about the golf swing - It would be folly to think that he doesn't go on learning about his swing for the rest of his career... and I'm not foolish

Okay, so we all know how great a golfer Tiger is. But lets be realistic here, Tiger is as good as he is mostly due to how many times that freak has hit a golf ball. I'm sure if you could get a hold of his weekly schedule it would tell you the things he focuses on the most is hitting a ball, whether its putting, chipping, or whatever. I'm pretty sure the focus of his week would NOT be spending time in a gym working on his strength and flexibilty. Sure, his mental approach to the game and his physical fitness play some part in his success, no doubt.

What I'm trying to say is, if you had to tell Tiger that for the rest of his golfing career he could train either in a gym and with a sports psychiatrist OR out on a range and green fine tuning and ingraining that swing and "feel" into his muscle memory - what do you think he would choose??

Do I think more lessons are going to help you improve? OF COURSE I DO, but only if you note down what you need to work on AND THEN ACTUALLY WORK ON IT. How many times have you gone to a lesson, listened to what your pro has told you, then turned up to the driving range two days later but forgotten most of the stuff you've been told to work on? It's happened to me. School is back in people!! Don't just turn up to a lesson with your clubs. Take a pen and paper, don't be afraid to ask your pro questions and write down what he has to say. Most adults have forgotten how to learn, it's a lot harder than when you were a kid school (which I might add is when Tiger was already giving lessons).

In summary, if you have time to do a fitness programme after you've done your money for your lessons justice by putting in the hours on the practice range, then you're lucky and by all means do it. But you should FOCUS on fixing your swing flawes by guidance from a pro and practicing, this is where you'll get the most benefit :!:

What sets Tiger apart is his mental toughness and his work ethic. There are dozens of guys with his physical talent. But they aren't hyper-driven like Tiger, who wants to be the best he can possibly be, expects to win every time he tees it up and is competing against the record books. I think Tiger has learned most of what he can about his golf swing. Now he just needs to trust it and repeat it under pressure. Ultimately, he wants to "own his swing," as did Hogan and Moe Norman. He's said that in the past (mentioning those two players) and I don't think he believes he's there yet.

Tiger is swinging PERFECT right now. Exactly where he was at 14 years old and I PROVE it every day!! He just gets bigger and smarter every time he plays. If you understand where Hank Haney wants his players in the golf swing you realize he quit trying it over a year ago!! He will stay with Hank because he is a great friend and he now knows where Tiger wants to get in the golf swing. Working out and the mind is where it's at with him now. Do you really think Tiger has anything else to learn about the golf swing?

Tiger looked like he was in top physical shape coming off the break, he was busting out of his spandex sleeves.

Have you ever seen his workout program?
