Posted by Mike in Golf Exercises, Golf Injury

Golfers Back PainDoes your back kill you after a round or practice? If you said yes…you are of the 80% of all amateur golfers who experience back pain at some point in their playing days.

Throughout this golf improvement blog I’ll be covering lower back pain with exercises, lower back video tips and strategies to eliminate it and prevent it. I’ll also be letting you know of other resources that may be helpful to you.

One such resource is over at StrongLifts.com. Mehdi has several great articles on lower back pain and remedies. A couple of examples is his Spinal Decompression article.

I strongly recommend you try these simple exercises if you have tried to fix your back pain and not been successful at it!

Mike.. this is definitely an important aspect of fitness for all golfers. Not only are exercises to strengthen the back essential, taking care of the back during a golf game is important too.

Such as proper back stretching and warmup before the game and good posture for the golf swing. The other aspect that many “weekend warriors” unconsciously forget, is swinging too hard to hit far or get out of situations. This can hurt the back. I am not a pro so I tend to just take a penalty drop.

Cheers :-)

Thanks for the articles Mike. I’m definitely checking them out. I used to have all kinds of lower back problems but once I started working out again regularly and working out my lower body as well as my back, it hardly ever hurts anymore.
