What’s Your Golfing Opinion

Posted by Mike in General

In writing for this blog I really need your help! What do you want to hear about? What’s important to YOU? This blog is about you…and YOUR NEEDS  As I don’t want to set myself up for posting everyday, I want to make sure what I write about, and share with you is information you are genuinely interested in and see value to your golf game (and life).

I truly want to connect with you!

The ONLY way I can…is to know what you really want. Do you want to hear about what I do from a golf and fitness standpoint? If so, what specifically? Is there concerns you have that you think I can cover and help with?

I’m a REAL person who loves golf and knows that fitness can play a huge part in getting you to play better. I don’t want to hammer fitness in you on this blog, but I do want to educate and inform you at the same time.

Have you found value in my recent golf exercise tip, or maybe my golf nutrition protein shake. I truly hope so, if not let me know how I can do BETTER for you!

I truly feel I was meant to bring my knowledge of both golf and fitness to you. It’s something I value highly, and appreciate the opportunity to help you in any way.

In exposing myself in this blog, I do have to keep in mind I have a wife and two kids to provide for  and this is what I do for a living (my golf fitness dvds, books and products). With over 27 million golfers just in our country alone, I know many of them could benefit from this approach, but need to get outside their own skin to realize it.

So far…this blog has been a lot of fun, and the interaction (commenting from you) has been exceptional! I want to keep it going and then some. My goal with this blog is to create a large golf community of golfers who get together regularly (visit this blog and comment) to help each other.

If you want to be a part of it and tell your golf friends I’m all for it

With that being said, comment below to your hearts content and desire. I look forward to seeing you in here soon. Also, if you want to be notified via email when I’ve made a new post, click the email image and link below to sign up today.

Mike,

I think that just by following your passion you are helping out a great need already. I think one of the things that would help the most is more tips on keeping golfers motivated to keep working out on a regular basis. I find that a lot of golfers love to play golf but hate to work out. Motivation is essential to keep their bodies in shape to play better golf as you always say. Thanks as always Mike.

Bob, that’s funny you say that, as I was going to do a post on motivation today, but want to put some thought into it

I think Bob is absolutely right motivation is a huge hurdle for most of us me included. I was thinking about finding a program around home at a fitness club for the winter. But I don’t like those clubs and would probably end up not going. What do you think Mike can you get us motivated?

PS. great blog Mike, I’ve put it in my favourites.

Hey Shelby! That’s why all my dvds are user-friendly and down in the home, removing all excuses  I know time is a valuable commodity, so removing time-wasters is critical.

I also think fitness motivation is one of the toughest obstacles to overcome nd one of the things that would be most helpful. It’s too easy to let things slide and find something else to do. The “regular routine” of fitness that’s needed is too many times not regular.

Mike,

I think what you’re doing so far is great. With that in mind and given my goals, I really need to transform my body. I need to drop weight and I need to gain flexibility. In addition, I need to gain muscular and cardio vascular endurance.

From my perspective, I got a lot out of the tip you gave me to try side lunges to gain hip flexibility. After doing that for a few days, I saw immediate results and will continue with it.

I think for me, what will give most value is more tips and information that targets very specific things in the areas where I need to transform myself. In reality, I think I need to buy your DVDs, but you asked  .

Regarding motivation, your comment about signing up and getting daily motivation is a good one. When posts like these pop up in my RSS reader, it does serve as a little dose of motivation. I need to do a better job of keeping that motivation strong, and I’m working on that all the time.

Self-improvement of any kind isn’t easy, or else we’d already all be where we want/need to be. You’re doing a great job helping out. Keep up the good work.

Mike

Hey Mike,

I was visiting with a business woman this week that also is looking for motivations to play more golf and to getting her employees to play golf as a group.

She found that their health insurance company would provide a discount on the premium the company pays on their group insurance if she got at least 85% of her employee’s active in some physical activity of some sort Since she is an addicted business golfer she is wanting to organize golf outings and golf schools for her employees to attend to get active in golf.

She has not gotten to organize the golf outings yet since she has to first deal with the negative attitude most people have towards playing golf and towards physical activity, but I found it encouraging that she wanted to try.

What also was encouraging with thinking that if she is thinking this way, there might be others who are thinking this way or would want to do the same thing if they knew there was some financial incentive to playing business golf.

I know that when I tell people about the ways they can go about getting full business expense deductions from playing business golf rather than just taking a client out for a round of golf I get more executives motivated to playing more business golf.

I am actually seeing some of my clients losing a little weight when I run into them out on the golf course.
