PGA Championship…Wow What A Roller Coaster

How many of you watched the PGA this last weekend? What a roller coaster, with Dustin Johnson getting a 2 stroke penalty for grounding his club in a bunker ?

How do you feel about the ruling? He was SO classy afterwards being interviewed. I’ll guarantee you he picked up a few more fans after how he handled it with the media.

And how about Bubba’s shot on the 18th hole of the playoff ?

What was cool was what he said to the media afterwards, which was basically he would have done it exactly the same if given over. I love that?

What’s your thoughts on this year’s PGA Championship?

Tiger Woods Affair, Car Crash, Voice Mail

I’ve held off until now talking about Tiger Woods, his alleged affairs, voice mail, car crash, the citation the Florida Highway Patrol issued, his poor wife Elin, and what I think is equally as important is him NOT playing golf. Especially in his own tournament. This is a sad time in golf. Our most celebrated star on the covers of tabloids, and the rage on TMZ.

Not only is TMZ.com going crazy, but many sites and blogs like Huffington Post, Golf.com, and a ton of golf blogs. It also seems like more women, not only Rachel Uchitel and Jaimee Grubbs are coming out of the wood work saying they had intimate affairs with Tiger also.

I don’t know what to say or think, but I am inviting you to join in on the conversation by commenting below. I want to know what the rest of the golfing community is thinking right now.

I know I want to give him the benefit of the doubt. As they say, “innocent until proven guilty” right? I have admired Tiger Woods since he came on tour over 10 years ago. I even watched his 3rd straight US Amateur he won by comeback up in Oregon at Pumpkin Ridge. I remember coming home and telling my wife, “I just watched this KID Tiger Woods, and man he’s going to be something”. I really did say that… just ask my wife

It’s a shame he isn’t playing in his own tournament, but I can’t blame him. I would stay inside too! I hope this blows over soon, and the tabloids and media drop it.

I don’t know if you’ve heard of Twitter, but it’s “blowing up” to say the least. It’s a great way to keep in touch with golfing friends and family. Golf Charity Event – We Won!

I’ve been playing more charity events with my golf group over at Scottsdale Golf Monthly Magazine.

Take a look at the winning team (us) at the Gold Canyon Golf Club. From left to right, yours truly , “big” Rick Baker (I’m 6′1″ so you can see he’s a giant…and he KILLS the ball), Susie Urry, and Tim Baker, Rick’s son.

We shot an amazing 18 under to win by 12 strokes, and we even left a few strokes on the course believe it or not. We had a fantastic new partner in Susie Urry. She is an LPGA teaching pro, so we had a big advantage on this one.

Rick (founder of the magazine) got us these cool bags to represent the magazine during these types of events. Check them out! Had to blow up the pic of my name (he even spelled it right ) on the bag

Fun Charity Golf Event Here In Phoenix

I played in a very fun charity golf event here in Phoenix at the beautiful Legacy Golf Club. We had a great time, and tied for third, although the first 2 placing were a bit controversial, but we won’t go into it. I was invited to play in it with a good friend of mine, Rick Baker, who is starting up what is going to be the valley’s top golf-only magazine. You can check out his website that is being redone over at Scottsdale Golf Monthly.

I am fortunate enough to be Rick’s Golf Swing Biomechanic expert, and will be writing an article to help golfers with different facets of their game each and every month. I’m looking forward to the journey with Rick’s magazine. I’m sure it will be a fun one.

On a side not, I won a “closest to the pin” on a par three, and so did my golf buddy David Wetter, who is to my left in the picture above. Rick is the big, tall guy in the back

Mizuno MP-57 Irons So Sweet

I was talking to a buddy (golf pro) of mine, and told him I am hitting all my irons off the toe. He took one look at my swing and said my clubs don’t fit. I didn’t even think about getting fit for them when I bought them 3 years ago. Little do I know eh? Well…I just got fitted and believe it or not I am 1/2″ over and 2 degrees upright.

When I hit that particular fit I was hitting the center of the phase EVERY time…Yay!!!

I also was told I am too good of player to be playing the clubs I had (nice sell job right?). I fell for it, and started hitting irons this store had. BTW…if you ever get a chance to check out a PGA Superstore…do it! What an awesome store!

Well…do you want to know what I got?

I got the Mizuno MP-57 Irons! What a sweet looking and awesome feeling golf club!

The ONLY bummer is I had to get fitted as I mentioned above, and they are supposed to arrive in 5-7 business days
